A free shuttle service will be offered for the first time at Whoop & Hollar this August, servicing Portage la Prairie—just hop on!
"With the introduction of more than one day and location this year, our festival committee felt it was only right to provide straightforward, accessible, and affordable transportation between both festival locations and campgrounds," says festival coordinator, Linda Omichinski.
On Saturday, festival-goers can simply hop on board the shuttle circuit at Herman Prior Activity Centre, PortageX Campground, or the main festival site on Highway 331.
Whoop & Hollar artistic director, Josh Wright, adds the shuttle service will aid in accessibility.
"We encourage Saturday festival-goers coming from Portage la Prairie to use this shuttle to free up parking spots for visitors travelling from other areas of the province," explains Wright.
"Or, if you don't have any other means to hit the countryside to check out the festival, this is your chance. The festival aims to be as inclusive as it possibly can."
Site Coordinator Mitchell Omichinski indicates that the festival is environmentally conscious and gives festival goers from town the opportunity to leave their cars at home.
On Saturday, the free shuttle bus is slated to run every two hours between 11:00 am and midnight. On Sunday, shuttle service between the two festival sites will be available on demand.
